Jared Kaplan

Co-Founder and CEO

Jared has served in executive roles at several private equity-backed fintech companies prior to founding Indigo. 

Most recently, he was CEO of Cadre, a tech platform facilitating access to commercial real estate investment. Previously, he was CEO of OppFi (NYSE: OPFI), an AI lending platform powering community banks, and Co-Founder & EVP of Insureon, the leading online agency for small business insurance. He also led financial services investing for Accretive, an early-stage private equity firm. 

He began his career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs and holds a BBA from the University of Michigan.

Braden Davis

Chief Insurance Officer (CIO)

Braden oversees Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Data Science, and Operations at Indigo.

With 20+ years of experience, he has built, led, and advised insurtech and fintech startups in developing products, securing insurance/financial capacity, building operations, and navigating regulatory and compliance matters. He was formerly Head of Strategy and a member of the Executive Management Board at QBE North America, and was previously with McKinsey & Company.

Braden earned an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and a BA in German from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Jason Foucher

Chief Product Officer (CPO)

Jason leads the creation of Indigo's product experience with a focus on automating and digitizing the Medical Professional Liability space.

Prior to Indigo, Jason played a role in disrupting the auto insurance industry. He started with Esurance during its early stages and witnessed its acquisition by Allstate. He also helped start up Metromile, the pioneering per-mile insurance company in the US. Jason co-founded Noblr, a digital-first, trip-based auto insurance platform later acquired by USAA.

Jason holds a BS in Mathematics from Bentley University.

Travis Watts

Chief Sales Officer (CSO)

With 20+ years of experience, Travis plays a strategic role in driving sales and business growth for Indigo.

Previously, he was Senior Director of Business Development at a large Catholic healthcare system. He also served as the VP of Sales & Marketing for a medical malpractice startup, specializing in direct collaboration with physicians. Travis also has three years of vital, direct experience as a medical malpractice insurance broker. 

Travis has competed in countless endurance events, including three Ironman triathlons. He earned a BS in Marketing from Clemson University.

Yotam Shacham

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Yotam brings 20+ years of experience to Indigo where he leads software vision, strategy, and implementation, leveraging his deep knowledge of machine learning for accurate doctor risk assessment.

 

Prior to his role at Indigo, Yotam built software for several industries, including as CTO and co-founder of a gaming studio, for insurtech Embroker, and at a crypto fintech firm.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Brian York

Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO)

Leading the underwriting team, Brian brings 20 years of underwriting experience and innovation in medical professional liability and related healthcare lines of business.

Prior to joining Indigo, Brian served as Vice President of Underwriting and developed the Value Based Care line of business for Coverys.  There, he managed a cross functional team charged with developing innovative products in support of healthcare providers transitioning from fee for service to alternative payment models as well as employers moving from fully insured to self-funded health plans.  Brian also led the Custom Account team, the large account underwriting division for the organization. In this role, he was responsible for strategy, product and program development and reinsurance solutions to serve the needs of self-insured healthcare institutions and physician practices utilizing both domestic and international underwriting platforms. 

York holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) and Associates in Reinsurance (ARe) designations and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Temple University.

Antony Ball

Chief Claim Officer (CCO)

Tony is a seasoned Claims Leader with over 20 years of experience across the US and International markets providing leadership and technical support to claims teams across the spectrum of healthcare provider professional liability as well as a Lawyers Professional Liability team which he built from the ground up. 

Previously, he was a VP of Claims with MedPro Group, where he spent 20 years leading multiple, national claim teams in the US healthcare and lawyers professional liability markets. As MedPro’s International Claim Leader, Tony also built out MedPro’s International claim team in London managing professional liability claims for physicians, surgeons and hospitals across the UK, France, Ireland, and Singapore. His experience includes all aspects of claims adjudication in the primary, excess and reinsurance space markets.

Tony has dedicated extensive volunteer work helping relocate and assist Congolese & Tanzanian refugees from refugee camps in Africa to living in the United States. He earned a BTEC Business & Finance degree from Reading College in the UK.

Rachael Dugan

General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Rachael oversees Indigo’s legal, compliance and government affairs functions. Rachael has 17 years of experience in insurance and financial services. Prior to Indigo, Rachael was Chief Legal Officer of SiriusPoint Ltd (NYSE: SPNT), a global insurance and reinsurance company. Before that, Rachael was General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at Reverence Capital Partners, a private investment fund focused on financial services private equity and structured credit. Before Reverence, Rachael served as Chief Strategy and M&A Counsel at Marsh McLennan, where she was responsible for global oversight of mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions. 

Rachael started her career at Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP as an associate in the M&A group. At S&C, Rachael advised domestic and foreign clients in a range of public and private M&A transactions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions across industries. 

Rachael graduated with honors from Loyola University of Maryland with a B.S. in Biology and as a Stone Scholar with a J.D. from Columbia Law School. Rachael is currently a trustee on the Loyola University of Maryland Board of Trustees.

Kathleen Murray

Vice President of People and Culture

Kathleen Murray is the Vice President of People and Culture at Indigo, overseeing all pillars of HR, including Employee Engagement, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Performance, Culture, and Business Partnership. She brings over a decade of experience in scaling the people function to support strategic growth in various industries including finance, med tech, and fintech. Kathleen has become an expert in fostering an environment which champions diversity, inclusion, innovation and high performance while working as a distributed remote team.

Before joining Indigo, Kathleen developed her skills in numerous leadership roles, building a keen understanding of the intricate balance between business objectives and human capital development. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Carleton University in Ottawa Canada, where she lives today.

Tovio Roberts

Head of Data Science

Tovio leads a team of exceptional data scientists in architecting and developing Indigo's risk prediction models. Tovio has over 2 decades of experience working in data management, analysis, and software development, and has worked and taught in the machine learning and data science space over the last ten years.

Prior to Indigo, Tovio was a lead data scientist at the healthcare AI company ClosedLoop, engineering predictive models toward detecting emergent conditions, primarily for populations served by ACOs and DCEs. The focus of these endeavors was deployable models that could be utilized in early interventions, leading to reduction of service costs and improved health outcomes. Before working in the healthcare AI space, Tovio taught as a Data Science Instructor at Galvanize, leading a team of curriculum developers and instructors in the delivery of live courses and the creation of extensive educational materials covering topics in statistics, machine learning, and Python development.

Tovio's academic background includes language studies in Arabic, Kiswahili, and Portuguese at Wayne State University, a B.S. in Machine Learning from Metropolitan State University, and grant-funded research positions in computer vision with MSU Denver and CU Denver.

Millie Lo

Head of Actuarial Science

Millie is delighted to join the Indigo team as the Head of Actuarial Science. With a career spanning over two decades, Millie brings a wealth of experience, including expertise in innovating rating methods, providing rate indications for large physician and hospital accounts, and crafting rate filing documents for regulatory approval. 

Millie's expertise extends to monitoring financial performance and developing tools to streamline processes. Collaborating closely with the management team, Millie has been instrumental in determining pricing strategies and addressing competitiveness concerns.

Yes. We do provide coverage for all medical specialties. We do not currently insure dentists, podiatrists, or chiropractors.
